You should aim to have the target search keyword within one of the HTML headers in your content (e.g. H2, H3, etc.). A comprehensive keyword research enables you to discover which words work in your line of field and attract the most attention. It also provides you with opportunities to create new content or improvise your previous posts by including relevant keywords. Keyword research is something that needs focus and attention. It’s something you should take seriously. Without proper keyword research, you could well be optimizing your texts for the wrong search terms. Another tip for making long form content appealing is giving people something to read that surprises them. Whether you choose to share a shocking statistic or a little-known fact, information that grabs people’s attention will make people more likely to read the rest of your content. The key to implementing this strategy is to find something interesting that people aren’t aware of and then center your piece around that idea or information. Keep URLs short

While there’s no denying the power of paid marketing channels such as Google AdWords, establish your organic presence and you will likely find your most profitable marketing channel. Even though links from Wikipedia are nofollow, there is speculation that Google’s algorithm still does take these links into account, at least to some extent. If your content fails to provide your users with any added value or to engross them, it will not help to acquire leads and/or customers. It is impossible to predict how people will search for content and which keywords they will use to do so. So, it is advisable to create content that can fully satisfy the users’ needs. It is not just about the quantity (huge amounts of text); it’s more about the relevance of the content to potential searches. It's not actually that difficult to get on page 1 of Google in a search (but that depends on the search!) You need to know your market and you need to have a good understanding of SEO and how to use keywords.
