Is SEO just the process of getting more inbound links?

Paid links are links garnered in exchange for payment. They can come from a network of link buyers and sellers, and a network usually consists of a group of low-quality sites that collectively link to a specific website in an effort to increase it’s authority in SERPs. Other times, there may be a reciprocal linking program, where a group of websites link to one another. Look for pages that have excessive links. Google advises 100 per page as a maximum, although it is OK to increase that on more important and heavily linked-to pages. Search engines (and users) look to the site architecture for clues as to what pages are most important. A key factor is how many clicks from the home page it takes to reach a page Stop usingkeywords in your URLs. Why? Because if you don’t know how to optimize a page without slamming keywords into the URLs, you don’t know how to optimize a Web page. Videos and images are page content too

Having a sitemap for your website plays a crucial role in SEO. It helps Google easily crawl your pages and index your website. Backlinks are the foundation of Google's algorithm for determining a site’s page rank. If you're willing to vouch for links added by third parties (e.g. if a commenter is trusted on your site), then there's no need to use nofollow on links; however, linking to sites that Google considers spammy can affect the reputation of your own site. Write a good, high-quality blog post and reach out to other blogs in your company’s industry, asking to have your blog post published on their blog. When asking, it is important that you mention the value that your blog post will bring. Just like they have for on-page SEO, technical aspects of SEO have changed as search engines have become more sophisticated.

Avoid SEO Attacks

If it’s been just a day or two since you made your website and are not appearing on the SERPs, then you might consider submitting your URL to Google (If you haven’t already done). If you still don’t appear on the SERPs, relax! Google takes some time to crawl and index your website. It usedto be that buying backlinks as you could was a successful means of boosting your organic search results. But today, it’s definitely not good to buy them in big packages. Google has declared that if you buy bulk backlinks to improve your rankings, you're breaching their guidelines. Search engines also take into account the traffic generated by links from social networks. It is assumed that these so-called “social signals” can influence a website’s ranking at least when search queries relate to something current. Google can detect well-written content, and can detect poor quality content, or unoriginal text. Both Google and Bing take page-loading speed into account in their website ranking algorithm.
